Tuesday, February 27, 2007 ::: I DON'T KNOW If I can handle that. I don't know. Is it silly to give this up? You wouldn't do it for me, would you? Oscars, what have we learnt? 1. Billy Cyrstal is still the best host. Ellen isn't bad, but I miss Billy. Oscar hasn't been the same without Billy. 2. People still think Hong Kong is part of Japan, apparently. An announcement during the awards claim that The Departed is based on Infernal Affairs, a Japanese (!!!) movie. 3. Martin Scorsese is great - The Departed might not be THE best picture - but he did acknowledge it's based on a Hong Kong film. I think he's a great guy. 4. Who wins and who don't - this doesn't mean much anymore, don't you think? 5. They say it's about the nominees, but I say it's about politics. 6. I think Nicole Kidman's dress looks amazing. And perhaps the only truly amazing dress among all dresses. 7. This just isn't Reese's year - she's presenting an award, not accepting one, and even if she won any she wouldn't have a hubby to thank anymore. 8. I don't think I'm going to watch Dreamgirls. That performance by Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and that other girl is such a put off. I hate people screaming. Really hate it. I want to hear you sing, not scream. 9. A lot of presenters messed up their speeches. Even superstars get nervous on stage too. Isn't that funny? 10. Somebody tell me what's so great about The Departed? 11. Ellen is quite good, actually.
